This may explain a few things.
From Reuters:
For pregnant women, even a few alcoholic beverages per week during the first or second trimester can have harmful consequences on the cognitive development of the unborn child.
A long-term study has found that 10-year-old African-American children who were exposed to between two to six drinks per week during [...]

More signs of the ever widening rift between Black Americans and illegal Latino immigrants.
From The Washington Times:
“We’re on the cusp of very critical legislation that centers on immigration — both legal and illegal,” Frank Morris Sr., chairman of Choose Black America, a new coalition of black Americans opposed to illegal entry, told reporters at the National [...]

The Brothers at Austrolabe had some excellent observations about the Indiana University Study in which Communist tendencies are shown in the beliefs of the Muslims in certain countries about Islamic law. My comments are here.
As Br Umar observed in the comments of my previous blog, many Western Muslims are in political alliance with the ultra-left, and have [...]

I found this article via Izzy Mo’s blog that basically states that many Muslims believe in economic egalitarianism.
In research based on survey data from seven predominantly Muslim nations, the authors found that Islamic orthodoxy — identified as the desire to implement Islamic law (shari’a) as the sole legal foundation of their nation — is associated [...]

In the early-mid 90’s, I remember a friend of mine who had been stationed in the Persian Gulf telling me, before I knew much about Arabs and their culture, that the Arabs loved Lionel Richie. We thought it was funny because even then, Lionel Richie had gone out of style.
Well, according to this story from [...]

Vivian Louie, a Chinese-American wrote a book called “Compelled to Excel: Immigration, Education, and Opportunity among Chinese Americans” that tries to in her mind answer the “model minority” myth of Asian-Americans when it comes to academic achievement. She does not think that the culture of Chinese Americans pushing them to succeed has much to do with it. [...]

There was an article last week, by Reuters that talks about Donna Gehrke-White’s book “The Face Behind the Veil” and the “Americanization” of masjids. The article describes some of the programs American Muslim women are now involved in to encourage more female participation.
“The other thing is that women are Americanizing the mosques, bringing in Brownie [...]

Plans for yet another round of pro-illegal immigration rallies are coming up here in Washington with some Muslim Organizations due to join in once again, in hopes that this will be a way of bringing more Muslim immigrants (A bad idea).
But I get the sense that they are also trying to do it to show [...]

Of course everyone by now knows about the pro-illegal immigration rallies that were held on May 1st. Otherwise known as May Day. Many Local and National Muslim Organizations joined in on the rallies because they feel by supporting this that this, by extension, will automatically build more support for more immigration from the Muslim countries.
I suppose I can [...]

This story in the Chicago Tribune is a sign to me that more and more Muslims and Islamic Organizations moving away from the understanding that we must be stoic and isolated from the people (strangely in the name of the Sunnah???)
“Muslims have been absent and aloof about the problems in the inner city,” he said. “We’re seen [...]
