UK Police have ruled that the Dispatches program was distorted.

The Channel 4 program is below:

  1. what a shock…

    *yawn*

“fair and balanced” journalism i suppose…

  2. [...] Tariq Nelson’s posted a Channel 4 News clip on the story on his blog: UK Police: C4 ‘distorted’ mosque programme. BBC World News also aired their own [...]

  3. Kevin Sutcliff is such a liar. He didn’t chop up any of the statements … yeah, right.

When the programme was first aired and discussed on various forums, I posted this short transcript to one of them of what the programme showed (please note that were I have inserted “footage clipped” are places where the footage has noticeably been edited and spliced together—quite the hatchet job if you ask me):

Narrator: And in a DVD, he attacks the idea of Gay Rights.

Abū Usâmah: They have given them unprecedented rights … (footage clipped) … so that your child can be exposed and introduced to two lesbians … (footage clipped) … now, they say … (footage clipped) … “if you discriminate against them, you’re going to jail.”

Narrator: He says Muslims should discriminate. (footage clipped).

Abū Usâmah: Wallahi (By Allah), we’ll discriminate. But we’ll discriminate in a way where we won’t get in trouble … (footage clipped) … the Muslim is a dentist, one of those people come … (footage clipped) … we’re going to take a big, big needle and stick it in his gum … (footage clipped)

Narrator: Then he says it’s a joke as it might get the mosque into trouble. (footage clipped)

Abū Usâmah: .. cause they’ll take this kalâm (speech) and get us all in trouble. (segment ends).

I truly appreciate how he does not deny any opinion he holds out of fear of the kuffar blamers. May Allaah grant us steadfastness.

  5. Salaams,
I remember the sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach when I watched Dispatches earlier this year. I feel so happy that the truth is now known. AllahuAkbar!
Have you seen the latest Dispatches program aired on Monday on Channel 4? I was called ‘Britain under Attack’ and had this guy with his face covered that they said was an Islamic ‘cleric’ called Abu Muhammed who said all sorts of things supporting terrorism but when he was shown reading the Quran he made grammatical mistakes!! What sort of cleric is that?! I reckon it was a setup!
Inshallah the truth will be known about this as well.
Have a look at ummahpulse.co.uk. They were the first to point out that Abu Muhammed could read the Quran properly. They also have something about the older Dispatches program ‘Undercover Mosque’

This is a real slap in the face with a wet fish followed by with a filthy rag for the likes of TJ Winter (Abdal-Hakim Murad), MECO, Haras Rafiq and other conniving failures who really thought that the only way they could get their own partisan agendas across was to participate in such a documentary.

  7. As-Salaamu ‘alaikum,

Someone called Abdullaah has published the exact same comment as Abdul-Haq al-Ashanti on my own blog. I watched the programme, and I re-watched it on YouTube this morning. I posted my own review of “Undercover Mosque” on my own blog here in January.

I don’t doubt that the bits about other preachers were chopped and spliced, that footage of women in niqab were shown at certain moments to give the impression that the two are connected, and that having found what dirt there was on Abu Usama, they moved on to matters which were not extreme, just unpopular. However, there is no disguising the relish with which Abu Usama talked about hating the kuffar and with which “Sheikh” Feiz talked about killing the Jews.

  8. Dispatches: condemned, but not yet cancelled

I guess I’ve taken my time in jumping on the bandwagon of Muslim bloggers commenting on the condemnation, last week, of the Channel 4 Dispatches documentary in which a number of Muslim preachers were shown making inflammatory remarks about “hating…
