Drudge Reports that Ramzi Yusef (from the first twin tower bombings) has converted to Christianity in prison and that a report will be on 60 minutes.
Problem is that this guy did not understood Islam in the first place, because apparently he believed that Islam is about killing, rape, explosions, chaos and bloodshed. I wouldn’t want to be part of such a religion either if I thought that that is what Islam is. If OBL’s Islam of rape and murder was the “real Islam”, I would leave it as would any reasonable person. Similarly, I would not have accepted Islam, if it were about hatred of whites, UFOs, and weird racial theories.
However, neither is the case.

This guy is a nutter. He was a Muslim nutter and how maybe he is a Christian nutter. A nutter is a nutter.
I doubt he will understand Christianity anymore than he understood Islam. Give him a few years and it will be Judaism or Hinduism he moves to next.
All I can say is that I wish all such nutters would leave the religion that they are doing their best to destroy now.
This part of the article got me “As a Muslim, Yousef prayed almost every hour, remembers Hood.”
That, in itself, is really extreme. It also goes agaisnt the Sunnah of the Prophet (PUBUH). The prophet said that Islam is a middle of the road religion.
It is clear that people who go so extreme burn out too quickly. This is EXACTLY why the Prophet preached against extremism in the religion, and the practice of it.
The article has the warden saying “he’s playing a game” by saying he’s converted. I also think that he’s probably just saying it (if he said it/did it) because he’s a wacko and he thinks he can get some pity by doing so.
He might be doing the Islam-hater’s favorite thing: taqiyyah!
As far as praying every hour, if he’s in a cell 24 hours a day and doesn’t come out for recreation, I think it’s not really extreme. But I doubt the warden was there all day long watching Yousef anyway…
All other news about it is based on this one ‘dredge’ report… kind of fishy..

WOW he was never a Muslim (ALLAH swt knows best…EID MUBARAK. We Muslims know we are the superior religion the religion and message that Allah (GOD) has sent to all nations. It is up to all of the people of the world to follow this. Everyone has a inate knowledge at birth of Allah and it is up to US to follow it inshaAllah

First of all, the way the guy said praying ‘every hour’ made it clear that he was just saying he prayed a lot. I think the guy just observing him make the five prayers might use the term ‘every hour.’
Second, he was under nearly 24 hour complete isolation..according to the story he was one of only two people to be on a unit where he was isolated even from contact with guards.
In such a situation, I don’t think praying every hour would be extreme. The techniques described in the story are cruel and inhuman and we should be outraged that they are carried out in our name by this government…like much else which is done in the prison system to people who may be better than we are so sure these people are. The prison has carried out hundreds of torturous forced feedings for prisoners on hunger strike to try to protest the cruel and inhuman conditions.
I don’t know anything about Ramzi Yousef today or what religion he considers himself….whatever he was when he went in, it would be a miracle if he was not majnun at this point and therefore not resonsible for his actions before God. It continually boggles my mind that name calling for the 100th time about ‘nutters’ is thought to be more beneficial than actually addressing the real issues raised by the practices discussed in this news report.
