Ethnic Cleansing in L.A.?
…or is it being overblown?
According to Newsweek, Latin Gangs in Los Angeles have been intentionally driving blacks out of certain neighborhoods
A south Los Angeles Latino street gang targeted African-American gang rivals and other blacks in a campaign of neighborhood “cleansing,” federal prosecutors say. Alleged leaders and foot soldiers in the Hispanic gang Florencia 13, also called F13, are being arraigned this week on charges stemming from a pair of federal indictments that allege that the gang kept a tight grip on its turf by shooting members of a rival gang—and sometimes random black civilians. The “most disturbing aspect” of the federal charges was that “innocent citizens … ended up being shot simply because of the color of their skin,” U.S. Attorney Thomas O’Brien told reporters in announcing the indictments

The mexican mafia allied themselves with the Aryan Nation and skin heads back in the early 70’s and forever will remain the enemy of blacks. MS-13 and XVIII St. try to out do each other in attacks on blacks in order to compete for position within the mexican mafia. The aryans and mexican mafia work hand in hand with authorities to control legal and illegal activities of blacks in Los Angeles. The northern mexicans allied with the black guerilla family and are hated by the southern mexicans who make up the upper echelon positions within the mexican mafia. So it is no suprise that the mexican mafia continues to send gangs to eliminate blacks (or politcally speaking gang members) in L.A. who are their competitors.
Do not be fooled by the argument that this a fight between gangs. Many non-gang members are involved in this.
The D.C area will become part of this as soon as MS-13 gets enough troop strength to attack blacks.

The Mexican mafia (La eMe) working with white supremists has more to do with business than it does a racial issue.
For most whites in prison the “white power” thing is nothing more than a tribal moniker, you’ll find many of them have non white girlfriends and even children.
It is all about controlling sections of illegal vice in the various state prisons. For me what is interesting is how the Hispanics gangs and black gangs, both in and out of prison, tend to hate each other more than they do whites.
I think this has a bit to do with demographics. Numerically in most prisons, especially in California, white prisoners are very much the minority, with Hispanic and black prisoners being the bulk of the prison population.
For the Hispanics and the whites involved in criminal activity, both in prison and out of it, it is about bolstering numbers and trying to gain a greater share of the profits from illegal acitivity.
It is sad because it seems to be more about fighting over the bottom of the barrel than anything else.

This is really said. Latinos and Blacks and all minorities should be working together to gain rights and improve their conditions in America.

Yes, MR, Islam is perfect, unfortunately we Muslims aren’t, many of us are racist towards blacks, native americans, and latinos. This is no secret, I used to post on black message boards about Islam being the solution to racism and i was laughed off the board, many blacks, including myself, have had poor experiences with our brothers and sisters. We are hypocrites, we feed on the misperceptions about other minorites yet cry when non Muslims dish it back out us. I hear racist comments all day long, which is really sad considering where I work - defeats the purpose SMH
Many racists and white supremacists lust after non-white people for marriage and have these people in their families. For example, how was it that white slave masters could beat and not acknowledge their children they had with African women in the U.S. The Middle East is notorious for having African concubines and discarding their offspring and keeping them as slaves or second class citizens. Sexual relations and family relationships do not make racism less likely it probably makes it more likely and more complex and subtle.
You can read Cointelpro and FBI reports on Aryan Brotherhood and the Mexican Mafia teaming up. Mexicans are known for their racism against blacks particularly in Mexico and the Southwest U.S.
The one reason the Hispanics and Blacks hate each other more is because and proximity and fighting over the crumbs. The whites usually have the power structure apparatus to protect them and so institutional racism is available to them as leverage. Minorities cannot rely on institutional racism as leverage so they must square off with each other in areas not under institutional control, which means blacks and hispanics will naturally be in direct competition with each other.

what is the point to this? what is the impact on Islam and the Muslims? If there is one, it should be stated not just left empty for people to comment as they will. As Muslims we should leave alone that which does not concern us. And we should prioritize. So we should think of a plan to present Islam to these people especially since most “Blacks” have a background with Islam and so do the hispanics since we ruled Spain for so long and we used to visit the West before Cristopher Colmbus. AND the poor criminal type are usually first to accept Islam anyway. SO let us be positive and do what is necessary, not be a bunch of old people who like to sit around and talk about what they heard.
All issues affecting AA should concern AA Muslims. As Malcom X said we do not suffer from injustice because were are Christian, Muslim of Jewish but because we are AA.
By the way in the Los Angeles area Muslims are the main mediators between the two groups. We have been working and will continue to work with those who extend their hand in brotherhood and/or friendship regardless of race. I personally do not compartmentalize my religion from my ethnicity because based upon my experience things are not that simple.
The discussion is just an exchange so that we are better equipped to deal in the temporal world.
So in my humble opinion any issue affecting the AA community has an impact on Muslims and Islam because we represent a significant and important segment of the Muslim community.

I’m Latina-Muslima from Los Angeles. The gang violence running in LA is the no different to what’s been happening within the tribes of the Arabian peninsula. i.e. Tamimi’s don’t get along with Kalbi’s and “if they’re gunna harm us we’re gunna get them back.” Reality is the streets of Los Angeles need a lot work with Dawah. That’s the only thing that’s gonna pacifiy both sides.

Just to clarify about Afro-Latinos. It is important that people on the East Coast not essentialize our Spanish speaking brothers and sisters. The reason why there are so many Afro-Latinos in places like the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Cuba was because of the role of the slave trade and sugar plantations. There are also large numbers of people of African descent in South American countries. But that does not mean that all Spanish speaking people in the New World are Black. For the most part, Mexicans are a mixture of indigineous Native Americans and Spaniards. It is largely a Mestizo culture (Spanish and Indian) as opposed to Mullato (Spanish, Black, and Native American) However there is a small percentage of Mexicans of African descent, but that is a small percentage compared to other countries with long legacies in the trans-Saharan slave trade. .
