The reason I believe that it is good to tell stories like the ones I have told and the ones related here is so that the people coming behind us will not have to go through the same things that many of us had to go through. I really feel optimistic that we are headed into a new “grown up” era in which an Islam of personal responsibility, hard work, tight family bonds and kindness are promoted rather than the “Islam” of irresponsibility, laziness, serial stranger marriage, and demagoguery.

Hopefully the latter “Islam” will largely be a thing of the past very soon. Learning from mistakes is the point
