…gas could hit $4.00/ gallon as oil is over $100/ barrel

Maybe it is time to buy gold

  1. No, the time to buy gold was ten years ago. At $950 an ounce it is either time to sell it or hold onto it.

  2. AS Salaamu Alaikum this was a very thoughtful post. Based on the way the Federal Reserve was set up, MUSLIMS NEED to look at gold and silver as the most halaal currency available.

Many will laugh at this old man, but they think the fed is part
of the U.S. government. May Allah protect you young people
from the days ahead build up your storehouses like Yusef(a.s).
for famine and pestilence (spiritual and physical ) are on the way.

  3. The United States is called the land of prosperity. These days it makes you wonder how long our country will live up to it’s name? These days, the American dream equates to people working two, three and even, four jobs, people are losing their jobs like crazy and the homeless situation will get worse with this housing slump.

I remembered my maternal grandmother’s friend tell us stories of ther endurance of the great depression of 1929 and how they had to eat beans , cornbread and even horsemeat for breakfast ,lunch(if they were lucky enough to get that or both)and dinner. My grandmother also said it happended to her and her family.I think about those time where my mom would get angry at us for not eating ” undesirable” foods. I remembered days where we didn’t have a washer or dryer or a telephone. We had water, but we had to use washtubs to bathe in as our tub or shower wasn’t working at the time. We only had a Black and White TV. It seemed like a pain at the time, but when you look at the rate this economy is going , it makes me very appreciative of them.

I’m hoping that our next president will inject a major boost into the economy. I think about this rebate that Bush has recently endorsed. Don’t get me wrong, Some of us can use some of that money, but that is not the solution for a possible longtime problem. Even when some of those people get the money, tthey are going to spend it alright, on the bills that couldn’t afford to pay. If Bush want our economy to be fixed, he needs to start focusing more on job creation( plus security), education and affordable housing. What would be the use of him giving those rebate checks when half of those people will probably be out on the streets with the homeless. On top of that, he’s probably happy going out as he’s leaving a pile mess for the next president to fool with.

  4. Salaam ‘alaikum.

Out of curiosity, may I know why my previous comment was deleted?

  5. The American gravy train cannot last forever. America is carrying a lot of dead weight. Supporting puppet regimes, wars abroad, military presence world-wide. I am surprised the powers that be have held it together this long.
