Gas Shock

Is California a sign of things to come for the rest of us? Gas is over $5 in some places there

  1. Possibly, the experts are already saying that gas will go up by four dollars in the summer months. Never in time could I recall a time in history where we have inflated gas prices like the ones were seeing today!

  2. There’s a reason why that gas station charges that much: because it pays for the town’s generator, and the fact that the nearest gas station is about 40 miles away.

    Simple economics, really.

And Tariq, with all due respect, Europeans, Indians and the Japanese pay a lot more than we do so I think we have no ground to bitch and cry about the price of petrol/gas.

  3. In addition to that, I also believe in another bigger reason that we’re paying for gas: to cover the cost of the war in Iraq. We’re running out of money. What is a better way to get the money back than to get it from us?

  4. No, gas taxes do not cover the cost of the Iraq war. They are used for local and state revenues.
