A well written and thought out article by Firas Ahmad in Islamica Magazine on the dilemma Muslims in America face in this year’s election. However, the part I have quoted below is what I found most interesting. I do not believe that most Muslims understand this:

Abdur-Rahman Muhammad has a series of posts on the last 30-40 years of Islam amongst Blackamerican Muslims that I suggest everyone read. He essentially tries to get at he heart of how the culture of denial developed
I have been having some really insightful conversations with these “veterans” and in time, I hope to bring more [...]

Muslim Thought explores the often very divisive question of whether or not American Muslims should have a unique culture. Many Muslims are vehemently opposed to such a concept and feel that we should import a culture from a current Muslim country. I have touched on this topic in this post and feel that it is damaging to [...]

Hatred of the West has become the seventh pillar of Islam (with Palestine being established as the sixth)
And they wonder why people ask “if they hate it so much, then why do they come?
Criticizing things from time to time is one thing - and is fair. However, going on these weekly rants about the evil [...]

Last year, I posted this on the topic of telling college educated/middle class individuals about Islam. A few days ago, Amir posted this similar post on Austrolabe. What goes on in Australia is eerily (and sadly) similar to what often happens here in the US in spite of them being ‘down under’.

But what he doesn’t understand, Ellison said emphatically, were those - he called them “crazies” - who [...]

…or so goes the mantra. The ‘Your Black Muslim Bakery’ con job/murder was somehow linked to Muslims when in reality these are a bunch of guys who say that their Lord is some guy from the 1930’s. Some media outlets even referred to these common thugs as “Islamists” in an attempt at more fear mongering. [...]

One of the things I really liked about this post was that it showed how Muslims - at least on the East Coast - have a distinct culture that is fully American at the same time and it is not contradictory.
However, in recent years the only “authentic” Islam seems to be “immigrant Islam” - especially [...]

Update: Muslims can take this survey of attitudes on the West
——
While the numbers are still too large, this poll shows that more and more Muslims are sickened by the carnage on constant display by the lunatic fringe (they attacked a children’s hospital today) and are rejecting suicide terror as a means of defense along with [...]
